Built around the way you hire
Employment Background Screening Services
Choose the information that matters for your roles, locations and hiring process. Red Brick combines screening, verification and program support into a scope your team can understand and use consistently.
Not every position needs every check. Access, consent and source availability depend on the service and jurisdiction; we’ll confirm the details for your program before ordering.
Identity & criminal record searches
Establish research leads and select the courts and record sources that fit the position and candidate history.
- SSN trace & address research
- Associated names and addresses help identify where to research. An address trace is not proof of a criminal record, identity, or work authorization.
- Identity & document verification
- Government ID, document authentication and selfie-based options where supported and appropriate.
- County & statewide criminal searches
- Selected county court searches and available state repositories, with scope based on the jurisdictions ordered.
- Federal criminal searches
- Research in the separate federal court system; federal and county searches cover different sources.
- National criminal database & corrections research
- A broad database helps locate potential records for relevant source verification. Department of Corrections research is available within a selected scope.
A broad database is not a complete search of every court. The search window describes the research ordered; legal reporting limits are a separate question.
Registry & vulnerable-population screening
Build role-based screening for paid staff, volunteers and organizations serving children or vulnerable adults.
- Sex offender registry searches
- An additional screening layer alongside appropriate court research; coverage varies by state.
- Child & adult abuse registries
- Available child abuse or neglect, elder abuse and adult protective-services registry checks for authorized requests.
- Fingerprint & program-specific coordination
- Fingerprint-based checks and state-agency processes where the role, program or jurisdiction calls for them. Volunteer packages may include driving records when participants are transported.
Registry access depends on the requester and jurisdiction. A commercial report does not replace a mandated fingerprint or state-agency check.
Employment, education & credentials
Confirm available background information with the relevant employer, institution or licensing source.
- Employment & education verification
- Reported employers, dates, titles and available details; high school, college and graduate credentials. Source responses determine what can be confirmed.
- Professional & trade credentials
- Licenses, certifications and available status or disciplinary information. Professional Engineer (PE) checks can address licenses held in multiple states with each issuing authority.
- References & military verification
- Professional and personal reference interviews within the selected scope, plus military documentation review through the available DD-214 process.
- IVES employment history
- Authorized IRS Income Verification Express Service records can support W-2 and 1099 payer-history review by tax year, with salary-free employer-facing output and appropriately scoped attachments.
IVES requires applicant authorization and does not establish exact employment dates, titles or complete employment coverage. Verification is not a certification of hands-on skill or authorization to practice in every jurisdiction.
Driving records & DOT programs
Separate driving-record research from the requirements of a covered transportation role.
- MVR, CDLIS & PSP
- Motor vehicle records for U.S. states and available Canadian jurisdictions; Commercial Driver’s License Information System searches; FMCSA Pre-Employment Screening Program crash and inspection history.
- Clearinghouse & DOT employment investigations
- Full and limited FMCSA Clearinghouse queries with applicable consent, plus prior-employer and safety-performance history requests within the relevant DOT scope.
- DOT testing & physical coordination
- Drug testing, collections, breath alcohol testing and DOT physical examination coordination.
- Random programs & driver qualification files
- Consortium and third-party administration, random selections, applicable Medical Review Officer and return-to-duty coordination, electronic DQ files and medical examiner certificate tracking.
An MVR, PSP report and Clearinghouse query are different products. Driving duties and the governing transportation rules determine the appropriate program, not the industry label alone.
Drug, alcohol & occupational health
Coordinate testing and examinations around your workplace program, collection location and required protocol.
- Drug testing
- 5-, 10- and 12-panel urine options, oral fluid and hair testing, and DOT and non-DOT programs. Laboratory and Medical Review Officer coordination supports the selected process.
- Breath alcohol testing
- Breath alcohol testing, including DOT service. This is distinct from a blood alcohol laboratory test.
- Collection arrangements
- Collection-site, mobile, on-site and after-hours options subject to location and scheduling, including program-specific post-accident arrangements.
- Occupational health
- Physical examinations, DOT physicals, TB testing, titers and respirator fit testing with the relevant forms and employer requirements.
Confirm the panel, specimen, examination, location and protocol before ordering. Medical qualification and employment decisions remain with the appropriate professionals and employer.
Healthcare exclusions & credentialing
Combine credential research, exclusion sources and ongoing review to support your organization’s credentialing process.
- Exclusions & FACIS Level 3
- OIG LEIE, SAM federal exclusions and available state Medicaid sources, plus FACIS Level 3 sanctions, exclusions and professional disciplinary screening.
- Primary-source credentials
- License and board-action verification, DEA registration confirmation and medical board certification through applicable ABMS or AOA sources.
- NPDB support & credentialing files
- Candidate self-query coordination and eligible-entity query or Continuous Query support through an authorized arrangement, with organization of verification results and monitoring information.
NPDB access is restricted to eligible, authorized arrangements; a self-query does not satisfy every entity-query obligation. FACIS is a commercial product, not a universal legal mandate or accreditation.
Financial risk, civil & sanctions research
Review selected public records and regulatory sources for roles involving financial responsibility or public trust.
- Financial Risk Search & civil records
- Selected bankruptcies, civil judgments and tax liens, upper- and lower-court civil searches and litigation-history research. Financial Risk Search is not a consumer credit report or credit score.
- Sanctions, watchlists & BrokerCheck
- OFAC SDN and consolidated sanctions, EU and UK lists, politically exposed person screening and FINRA BrokerCheck research for relevant positions.
- Specialized public-record research
- Financial-fraud history and workers’ compensation records where access, timing and use are permitted and appropriate.
Possible watchlist matches require resolution. A politically exposed person designation is not evidence of wrongdoing; specialized records need careful permissible-use review.
Social & adverse media screening
Add relevant published information to a defined employment-screening scope.
- Public social media review
- Provider-supported reports focused on workplace-relevant public content, not access to private accounts or passwords.
- Adverse media research
- Published information that can supplement international, sanctions or other specialized searches.
A media reference is not a verified court finding. Establish a relevant scope and reviewed decision process rather than assessing protected characteristics.
International screening
Define the country or territory and the question you need answered before choosing a search.
- Country-specific checks
- Available criminality checks, employment and education verification, identity and document authentication, and adverse media research.
- Local process coordination
- Review consent, permissible use, translations and collection procedures; some regulated checks require the individual or an authorized local organization to initiate the process.
Records and access differ across countries. Availability in one country is not a promise of the same product everywhere.
Form I-9 & E-Verify support
Support employment-eligibility paperwork through a separate workflow from criminal screening.
- Electronic I-9 & E-Verify
- Form completion and validation, E-Verify submission and status tracking, reverification reminders, retention and correction workflows.
- Remote examination support
- Document examination support when the employer qualifies for the applicable DHS procedure.
Remote examination is not available to every employer under every circumstance. I-9 and E-Verify are distinct processes; unresolved results require the applicable review steps, not automatic rejection.
Ongoing monitoring
Choose post-hire sources, frequency and a documented review process for the population being monitored.
- Records, exclusions & driving
- Criminal-record, healthcare exclusion and sanctions, and driving-record monitoring options.
- Licenses & certifications
- Status and expiration tracking to support credential review after hire.
Monitoring depends on its sources and settings; it does not guarantee immediate awareness of every change. Consent and human review remain important before employment action.
Program & workflow options
Fit the screening program to your hiring operation, from a single role to multiple teams and locations.
- Role-based packages & candidate experience
- Client-specific packages, staffing and hiring-campaign workflows, mobile-friendly invitations, disclosures, authorization and secure information intake.
- ATS, HR & API connections
- Supported order, report and status workflows. Review the actual system, product version, configuration and implementation scope with Red Brick.
- Adverse-action workflow support
- Pre-adverse and final notice workflows and documentation; the employer retains responsibility for decisions and appropriate timing.
- Contractor & volunteer payment arrangements
- Organization-initiated programs may include individual payment when appropriate, following legal review of classification, location, role and screening type. Payment does not remove the organization’s screening obligations.
Accounts require Red Brick’s review and separate activation. These arrangements are not an unrestricted personal self-order service, and a supported connection is not a guarantee of an existing account integration.
